Ingredients
680 g beef cut in 2 cm cubes
1 carrot, chopped
1 onion, diced
680 g mushrooms, sliced
1½ cups barley
1 tbsp SIDS HOT WORCESTER SAUCE
4 bay leaves
3 beef OXO cubes
1 tbsp SIDS SALT & PEPPER
Directions
Preheat a deep frypan over high heat. Brown the beef cubes on all sides. Remove the meat from the pan and place it into the slow cooker.
In the same pan, sauté the carrots and onion then cook until they are lightly browned. Place into the slow cooker.
Brown mushrooms in the same pan and add to the slow cooker.
Add barley, SIDS HOT WORCESTER SAUCE, bay leaves, OXO cubes and SIDS SALT & PEPPER to the slow cooker. Fill with enough water to cover ⅔ of the ingredients. (about 2.5 cups)
Depending on the size and power of your slow cooker, cook on HIGH for 2-4 hours. Check the stew periodically to gauge doneness. Serve hot and enjoy.
