Ingredients

2 tbsp rice bran oil
8 streaky bacon rashers, chopped
1 onion, fine chopped
1 leek (pale part only), thin sliced
3 garlic cloves, chopped
6 thyme sprigs, leaves only
2 tbsp tomato paste
500 g beef mince
¼ cup SIDS HOT WORCESTER SAUCE
345 ml beer
400 g chopped tomatoes
400 g long pasta, broken in ½
Parmesan, grated, to serve
Parsley, chopped, to serve

Directions

Heat oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Cook the bacon for 4-5 minutes until crisp and fat has rendered. Add the onion and leek and cook, stirring, for 3-4 minutes until softened. Add the garlic and thyme and cook for a further 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
Increase heat to medium-high and add the tomato paste. Cook, stirring, for 1 minute, then add the beef and cook, stirring, for 5-6 minutes until browned. Add SIDS HOT WORCESTER SAUCE, beer and chopped tomato, scraping the bottom of the pan. Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat to medium-low and cook for 30-35 minutes until reduced and thickened.
Cook the pasta according to packet instructions. Drain, reserving ⅓ cup cooking water. Add reserved cooking water to the beef mixture and stir to loosen. Add the pasta to the pan and toss to combine.
Divide pasta among bowls and serve topped with parmesan and parsley.
