Ingredients
1 kg beetroot
500 g onions
Malt vinegar
700 g white sugar
2 tsp SIDS SALT & PEPPER
1 tbsp pickling spice, tied in muslin
2 tbsp cornflour
Directions
Grate the beetroot and onions. Place in a small stockpot, cover with vinegar then add sugar, SIDS SALT & PEPPER and spice. Boil for 30 minutes until beetroot is cooked.
Remove and discard the pickling spice. Mix the cornflour with a little vinegar and stir into the relish. Bring back to the boil for a further 3 minutes. Seal in hot jars.
