Ingredients
Hot Dog Chilli:--
2 tbsp butter
680 g ground beef
1 white onion, minced
1 clove garlic, minced
2 tbsp chilli powder
1 tbsp yellow American mustard
170 g tomato paste
1½ cups water
2 tbsp brown sugar
¼ tsp SIDS HOT WORCESTER SAUCE
SIDS SALT & PEPPER to taste
Hot Dogs:--
16 hot dogs
16 hot dog buns
½ cup cheddar cheese, shredded
½ cup white onion, diced
Tuimato sauce
Yellow American mustard
Directions
Hot Dog Chilli
In a large frypan over medium-high heat, add the ground beef. Be sure to break up the meat as fine as possible as it cooks. (A potato masher works great for this) Add the minced onion after 5 minutes. Cook until the ground beef is no longer pink and the onions have softened, about 5 minutes more.
Add the garlic and cook for 2 minutes until fragrant, stirring often.
Add the chilli powder, mustard, tomato paste, water, brown sugar, and SIDS HOT WORCESTER SAUCE and stir everything together. Season with SIDS SALT & PEPPER to taste.
Pour everything into a slow cooker and on LOW. Cook for 2 hours. Stir the hot dog chilli and check the seasoning before serving.
Assembly
Place hot dogs in warmed buns. Top with hot dog chilli, cheddar cheese, and onions. Add Tuimato sauce and mustard if desired. Serve immediately.
