Ingredients

500 g small button mushrooms, ends trimmed
1½ cups all purpose flour, divided
1 cup beer
1 rasher of bacon
1 tsp SIDS SALT & PEPPER
¼ tsp garlic powder
¼ tsp onion powder
Rice bran oil, for frying
1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped

Directions

Heat 8 cm of oil in a deep pot to 190°C. Fry the bacon to almost crispy. Break into small pieces - 1 per mushroom.
Coat the mushrooms in ½ cup flour, shaking off any excess.
In a medium bowl, mix together the remaining cup of flour, beer, SIDS SALT & PEPPER, garlic powder and onion powder.
Coat each mushroom in batter, letting the excess batter drip back into the bowl. Firmly insert a piece of bacon.
Fry 4-5 mushrooms at a time until golden brown, about 7 minutes.
