Home Made Pizza Base

Home Made Pizza Base

I don't love the list of ingredients in the frozen pizzas found in the frozen food section of the local grocers. There are some frozen pizzas at the health food store with good, quality ingredients, but they are expensive.

Ingredients

3 cups hot water
2 tsp yeast
½ cup honey
⅔ cup rice bran oil
4 tsp salt
8-9 cups flour
2 tbsp Italian seasoning
1 tsp SIDS CRAZY SALT
2 tbsp garlic powder (optional)

Directions

Combine water, yeast and honey in stand up mixer. Let sit for 3-5 minutes until mixture is bubbly. Add SIDS CRAZY SALT, oil, salt and seasonings to stand mixer and combine thoroughly. Slowly add flour to a wet, workable dough. You want the dough to be sticky.
Using the dough hook on the stand mixer, knead the dough for 5 minutes. (a little longer if using whole wheat flour) Add a little flour here and there to keep the dough from sticking.
Transfer the kneaded dough to a greased bowl, or leave in stand mixer bowl. Cover the bowl with a damp cloth and let the dough rise until doubled. Without punching it down, divide into two halves.
Preheat oven to 220°C.
Roll the dough out onto a pizza pan. Be sure to punch holes in the dough with a fork before cooking. Cook without the toppings for 7-8 minutes.
Once the pizza crusts have been pre-cooked, add sauce and toppings.
To freeze, wrap in clingfilm, write on it type, date, cooking temperature and cooking time.
