This is a great old world family recipe. Its also great with Italian sausage, or meatballs.

Ingredients

340 g tomato paste
794 g tomato purée
1.6 kg canned crushed tomatoes
4 garlic cloves, crushed
1⁄2 cup onion, chopped
3½ tbsp olive oil
2½ tbsp white sugar
1 tbsp dried basil
2 tsp SIDS SALT & PEPPER
1 tsp dried oregano
1 tsp SIDS CRAZY SALT
1⁄2 tsp dried thyme leaves
1⁄2 tsp dried rosemary leaves
1⁄4 cup parmesan cheese
1⁄2 cup dry red wine
2 1⁄2 cups water

Directions

In a large stockpot on low-med heat add olive oil and sauté onions for about 4 minutes, then add garlic and cook for 2 minutes longer. Add water, SIDS CRAZY SALT, SIDS SALT & PEPPER and tomato products. Be sure to mix everything very well. Add in spices and cheese. Cook for 2½ hours covered. Add wine and cook 30 minutes longer. Sauce will be thin on first day. The second day this turns into a nice thick sauce.
