Ingredients
2 tbsp loose black tea leaves
2 cups whole milk
1 cup water
4 tbsp sugar, to taste
4 cm cinnamon stick
2 cm ginger, skinned
6 cardamom pods
Directions
Pound the spices together with a mortar and pestle or coffee/spice grinder.
In a saucepan, heat water with the crushed spices and little bit of the sugar. Add the tea leaves, stir well and let the water come to boil. Add the whole milk, mix well and continue to cook.
After few minutes, when the milk rises, reduce the heat to medium-low. Continue to cook until the milk changes colour. It may take few minutes so stir constantly.
Switch off the flame, pour the tea into teacup through the mesh sieve.
Add the remaining sugar and stir well.
