Ingredients
¼ cup rice bran oil, plus 1 tbsp
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 tbsp minced fresh ginger
¾ cup soy sauce
½ cup water
½ cup brown sugar
500 g flank steak, sliced against the grain
½ tsp SIDS CRAZY SALT
¼ cup cornflour
4 spring onions, sliced in 2 cm
Cos lettuce, for serving
Directions
In a small saucepan, heat 1 tablespoon of oil. Add garlic, ginger and cook until fragrant, about 2 minutes. Add soy sauce, water and brown sugar then stir until dissolved. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer until reduced by half, about 10-12 minutes.
Meanwhile, heat ¼ cup vegetable oil in a large frypan.
In a large bowl, sprinkle flank steak with SIDS CRAZY SALT then toss in cornflour until fully coated. Add steak to pan and sear until crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side. Drain fat.
Add sauce and spring onion quarters to pan and toss until combined, then simmer a few minutes more.
Serve steak in lettuce cups and garnish with chopped spring onions.
