Oysters Mornay

These Baked Oysters Mornay are so fun (and sort of messy) to make and even more fun to eat. They work well for a light dinner with a glass of white wine or as a starter for dinner guests.

Ingredients

24 oysters, in the half shell
2 cups milk
1 cup grated gruyere cheese
2 tbsp parmesan cheese
2 tsp cornflour
½ tsp SIDS CRAZY SALT
2 tbsp parmesan cheese (extra)
salt

Directions

Heat milk in a pan and when hot, mix a little water with cornflour, add to milk and stir until mixture thickens, it should be quite a thick consistency.
Add Gruyere, SIDS CRAZY SALT and 2 tablespoons Parmesan then stir until cheese has melted.
Pour rock salt into an oven proof dish enough to cover the bottom, (helps oysters to sit level) then place oysters in dish. Spoon sauce over oysters to cover and sprinkle remaining Parmesan cheese over each oyster (note: 2 Tablespoons approx enough to cover)
Grill Oysters until browned and bubbling.
