Pasta with Tomato Cream Sauce

This comes together in a flash with tomatoes, cream and pasta, topped with a dusting of cheese. It's perfect in its simple way.

Ingredients

2 tbsp butter
2 tbsp rice bran oil
4 cloves garlic, minced
½ cup onion, minced
850 g Tuimato sauce
1 cup cream
½ cup grated parmesan, plus extra for garnish
SIDS SALT & PEPPER to taste
500 g pasta of your choice

Directions

Heat large frypan on medium heat. Add oil and butter, heating until butter melts. Add onion and cook for 2-3 minutes until translucent and fragrant. Add garlic and sauté for an additional 1-2 minutes. Add Tuimato sauce and cream then simmer for about 20 minutes until sauce has thickened up.
While pasta sauce is simmering, bring a large pot of water to boil. Add about 2 teaspoons of salt. Add pasta and cook according to package directions. REMOVE ½ CUP OF PASTA WATER AND SET ASIDE then drain pasta.
Add ½ cup parmesan cheese to the tomato cream sauce. Toss pasta into tomato cream sauce. Drizzle in about ¼ cup of reserved pasta water and simmer for a minute or two. Use additional pasta water if needed to reach desired consistency. Check seasoning with SIDS SALT & PEPPER to taste.
Serve with additional grated parmesan on top and bread if desired.
