Ingredients
1 kg baby back pork ribs
2 tsp SIDS SALT & PEPPER
2½ tbsp rice bran oil
½ cup onion, chopped fine
1½ cups water
½ cup tomato paste
½ cup SIDS RASPBERRY VINEGAR
½ cup brown sugar
2½ tbsp raw bush honey
3 tbsp SIDS SMOKEY GARLIC SAUCE
2 tsp whiskey
2 tsp garlic powder
¼ tsp paprika
½ tsp onion powder
1 tbsp dark molasses
1 tsp ground cayenne pepper
Directions
Preheat oven to 150°C.
Cut each full rack of ribs in half so you have 4 half racks. (you may want to have your butcher do this) Cover ribs with 1-2 tbsp SIDS SMOKEY GARLIC SAUCE then sprinkle SIDS SALT & PEPPER. Wrap each rack in foil and bake for 2½ hours.
Meanwhile, heat oil in a pan. Sauté onions for 5 minutes then stir in all the remaining ingredients including SIDS RASPBERRY VINEGAR and honey. Simmer for 1 hour until sauce thickens. Remove from heat and set aside.
Remove ribs from the oven to stand for 10 minutes. Set grill to hot. Remove foil and place racks on the well oiled grill for 3-4 minutes each side. Baste with sauce just before end of grilling. (baste too early will burn the marinade)
Serve and provide lots of finger bowls & napkins!
