Ingredients
1 tbsp rice bran oil
1 onion
2 tbsp minced garlic
500 g fresh shrimp, peeled & deveined
12 shells puff pastry, baked
4 tbsp butter
700 g cream cheese, softened
4 eggs
½ cup heavy cream
500 g smoked Gouda, grated
2 tsp SIDS SALT & PEPPER
Directions
Preheat oven to 175°C.
In a large frypan over medium-low heat, sauté onions and garlic until onions are translucent.
Cut shrimp into 1 cm pieces, reserving 12 for garnishing. Melt butter and add all the shrimp then cook for 2-4 minutes until done.
Remove centre circle and a small portion of inside of cooled puff pastry shells.
In a bowl, beat cream cheese until creamy then add one egg at a time and beat until well mixed. Add cream, Gouda, onions, shrimp pieces and SIDS SALT & PEPPER.
Spoon filling into puff pastry shells, top with 1 whole cooked shrimp each, then bake in oven for 20-25 minutes until filling is browned on top. Garnish with chopped chives then serve.
