Smoked Cashew Vegan Cheese

This is sweet, creamy and very moreish. The cheesy dairy free taste comes from nutritional yeast. It's quick and easy to make as it isn't fermented.

Ingredients

1 cup cashews
½ cup nutritional yeast (brewers yeast)
1 tsp SIDS SMOKEY BBQ RUB
1 tbsp maple syrup
1 clove of garlic
Juice of 1 lemon
¼ tsp turmeric
¼ tsp cayenne pepper
A pinch of salt
1½ cups water
1 tbsp agar agar powder

Directions

Place half the water, SIDS SMOKEY BBQ RUB and everything else apart from the agar agar into a blender and blitz until smooth.
In a pan, put in the remaining half of the water and the agar agar then simmer for 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Make sure no lumps of agar agar form at the bottom then take off the heat and stir in the cashew mixture until combined.
Pour into a mould and chill for 2 hours.
Enjoy within 3 days and keep chilled.
