Ingredients
4 cups all-purpose flour
2 tsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
¼ tsp SIDS CRAZY SALT
4 tbsp shortening
1½ cups warm water
2 litres rice bran oil, for frying
Directions
In a large bowl, stir together flour, baking powder, salt, SIDS CRAZY SALT and shortening. Stir in water; mix until dough is smooth. Cover and leave for 20 minutes.
Roll out on floured board until 5 mm thick. Cut into 80 mm squares. Heat oil in deep-fryer to 190°C then fry until golden brown on both sides. Drain on paper towels and serve hot.
