Spicy Chicken Cream Cheese Wontons

These bite size crispy treats are filled with cream cheese, chicken, cheddar, cayenne pepper and a perfect blend of spices.

Ingredients

250 g cream cheese
1½ cups cheddar cheese, grated
½ tsp garlic powder
½ tsp cayenne pepper
½ tsp SIDS CRAZY SALT
½ tsp onion powder
4 spring onions, sliced
1 cup finely diced COOKED chicken
1 pkt 350 g wonton wrappers
Rice bran oil, for frying
SIDS TAMARILLO SAUCE, for dipping

Directions

In large food processor add cream cheese, cheddar, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, SIDS CRAZY SALT, onion powder, spring onions and cooked chicken. Pulse just a few times, just enough to combine.
Place a heaped teaspoon in the centre of each wonton and pull up sides and pinch. Lightly moisten fingers with cold water and pinch again. Press down gently on plate to get their bottoms flat. (so they will stand up) Keep extra wontons skins covered with lightly moistened tea towel while you work. Repeat until all wontons are full. Cover filled wontons with lightly moistened tea towel while you are working and heating the oil.
Heat about 2 cm of oil to 175-190°C in a heavy frypan. Working in small batches, fry until golden brown. Use tongs to brown on both sides if they fall over. Drain on paper towels.
Serve warm wontons with a bowl of SIDS TAMARILLO SAUCE.
