This has some similarities with 'kinilaw' or 'kilawin' and 'sinuglaw' as all these Filipino food favourites are soaked i vinegar mixture and make a good appetizer or "pulutan".

Ingredients

300 g fresh tuna
450 g extra firm tofu
1 red onion, sliced
3 pieces long green chilli, sliced
¾ cup SIDS RASPBERRY VINEGAR
2 tbsp GF soy sauce
1 tbsp white sugar
1½ cups rice bran oil
SIDS SALT & PEPPER to taste

Directions

Combine SIDS RASPBERRY VINEGAR, soy sauce and sugar in a bowl and mix well. Microwave for 15 seconds then set aside.
Rub SIDS SALT & PEPPER on the tuna and let it stand for 15 minutes. Grill the tuna for 3-5 minutes per side. Remove the tuna from the grill. Slice into cubes and set aside.
Heat the oil in a deep cooking pot and deep fry the tofu (two pieces at a time) until the colour turns golden brown. Remove the tofu from the cooking pot and drain. Slice the tofu into cubes then set aside. Combine the tuna, tofu, onion and chilli in a mixing bowl. Pour in the vinegar mixture. Gently toss until all the ingredients are well blended.
Transfer to a serving plate or bowl.
