Ingredients
500 g pork mince
1 cup celery, diced
1 cup carrot, shredded
1 cup onion, minced
3 cloves garlic, fine chopped
1 tsp SIDS CRAZY LEMON
¼ cup soy sauce
1 pkt wonton wrappers
2 eggs, lightly beaten
rice bran oil for frying
½ cup SIDS PLUM SAUCE
Directions
With your hands, mix the mince, celery, carrot, onion, garlic, soy sauce and SIDS CRAZY LEMON in a bowl until well blended.
Separate wonton wrappers and lay them out on a clean flat surface. Spoon 1 tsp of the mixture into the centre of each wrapper then moisten the edges with egg and fold over the filling to form a triangle. Press with your thumb to seal. Place on a baking tray.
Deep fry at 180oC, 6 at a time, until golden brown and they float to the top, about 3-4 minutes. Drain on paper towels.
Serve with a dipping bowl of SIDS PLUM SAUCE.
History: Each region of China has its own variations of wonton, examples include Beijing, Sichuan, Hubei, Jiangnan, Jiangxi, Guangdong (Canton), Fujian, etc. 7th or 8th century old dumplings and wontons were found in Turfan.
